• How we make our handmade soap
  • We only use sustainable palm oil.
  • Our products contain many certified organic herbs and oils.

Our natural soap is made from pure olive, sustainable palm, soy, coconut and castor oils by the energy efficient "cold process" method.

Making handmade soap

We gently gently heat up the oils and then mix them with a strong alkali dissolved in water from our own clear spring, after lots of hand stirring it slowly begins to turn into pure soap, when it has thickened up to what we soapmakers call "trace" we add the required organic herbs, butters, spices and essential oils, each batch requires about 180ml of essential oil. We then pour the mixture into traditional lined wooden moulds and lay it aside for 48hrs to set.

It is first hand cut into logs...this colour is entirely natural, we use an alkanet root infusion! We do not use any artificial colours or nasty petrochemical fragrance oils (which I'm badly allergic to)

Then into bars.

Once cut it has to be put on drying racks for 4 weeks to cure to ensure that it is mild and long lasting.

We then wrap it by hand in fairly traded Saa paper and then band it with labels we print ourselves on Ellie Poo paper
