Q.Do you make the soaps yourself?
A. Yes, we have been making soap since 1997 and selling it since 1999, please take a look at our gallery pages.
Q. I bought some handmade soap a while ago and it went soggy on the sink...will yours do that?
A. I jolly well hope not, we do not bulk out our soap with cheap oils or extra water, we have never had one single complaint about this problem, the bar on the sink in my bathroom right now is a hard as a rock! However handmade soap does not contain artificial hardeners and needs to be kept well drained, we suggest that you buy a soap saver and don't leave your bar in the bottom of the bath!
Q. Does the soap keep it's fragrance down to the very last piece?
A. Yes, we have made thousands of batches over the years and we have honed our technique to ensure that the natural fragrance will stick!
Q.Are you products suitable for for vegetarians & vegans?
A. My products do not contain any animal by-products, however the Lip Food does contain Beeswax and is therefore not suitable for vegans.
Q. How long will my order take?
A. We try to despatch your order within 5 working days, if it is likely to take any longer I will contact you by email.
Q. Do you have a shop?
A. No, I used to have one but found it too difficult to keep up my trade orders whilst constantly popping into the shop, I miss my regulars but I'm sure that they can find a stockist in their local area.
Q. Why is your webpage called Working with Nature and your business called Bellingham soap?
A. Good question, I decided that in order not to compete directly with my trade customers that I needed a brand of my own...that all went well for a while until my canny customers saw the new range and wanted it for themselves...so I'm now selling both ranges trade and I sort of have two names!
Q. Your moisturiser ingredients all look like chemicals...they can't be natural, surely you must buy in a base?
A. Well...they are and I really don't, please take a bit of time to read the ingredients page and I can assure you that I do make everything myself.
Q. Are you certified?
A.Well my partner thinks I should be...but seriously, I am, it is the law that if you want to sell, donate or give away soap, toiletries or cosmetics within the EU you must have your products certified as safe by a suitable qualified cosmetic chemist and have the documentation to prove it. I have all of my PIF (product information files) ready should trading standards come calling.
Q. Well if you are certified...why don't you post the certificates on here?
A. The PIF files contain my recipes and a thorough description of my methods, along with my supplier details, I'm not a "hobby soaper" this is my full time job, I have to protect my IP...so sorry I can't.
